Cadia Valley Operations is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated person to join the Underground Mining Department as a Mining Engineer for Ridgeway Operations.
Reporting to the Operations Support Superintendent, you will be responsible for a broad range of mining engineering tasks.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Monthly mine planning, scheduling and variation analysis.
· Monitor, analyse and report Ridgeway mining costs.
· Administer service contracts including monthly accrual and progress payment verification.
· Monitor, analyse and report mining operational performance through the use of sound data-based analysis methods.
· Undertake project work as required by the Operations Support Superintendent.
Prerequisites for this role include:
· A commitment to ‘Safe Production’ and the environment.
· A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years post graduate industry experience in underground metalliferous mining.
· Sound understanding of mine development, drilling and blasting techniques and associated activities.
· Previous experience in mine development and production scheduling is desirable.
· Exposure to contractor management is desirable.
· A continuous improvement approach to all tasks.
Cadia Valley Operations is located approximately 25kms south of the scenic and historic community of Orange, NSW. The region offers a diverse range of dining, shopping, nightlife, sporting amenities and tourist attractions. Bathurst is 30 minutes drive east, the Blue Mountains 1 hour, Sydney, Canberra and the coast are within 3.5 hours drive.
The successful candidate will be relocated to Orange and receive a competitive remuneration package.
