This is a great opportunity with a key purpose to manage and assure the technical integrity of Newcrest's Mineral Assets at Cadia Valley. This will be achieved by overseeing brownfields growth, resources & reserves governance and production reliability.
Your key responsibilities will include :
· Lead technical excellence and assurance for resources and reserves including; definition, estimation, reporting, grade control, production reconciliation and reliability
· Maintain required level of technical standards across the various geology functions
· Develop targeted drilling programs for growth and reliability of Ore Reserves and Mineral Resources
· Continue development of grade control and reconciliation systems
· Collate and review site wide production reconciliation
· Deplete and update the Mineral Resources to comply with JORC
· Provide input to the short and long term planning processes and the CVO Ore Reserves
· Compile production data and present information to management
· Maintain control on expenditure to deliver expected results without exceeding budget
To be a success in this position you will possess a bachelor degree in earth sciences, mining engineering or closely related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution, coupled with a sound technical background in mine geology including sampling theory, QA/QC, resource estimation & reporting, grade control and reconciliation.
You will have strong operations management ability including planning, leading, executing and controlling projects to achieve physical and financial outcomes safely and efficiently and the ability to lead and influence people to achieve personal and team goals within the Newcrest values and behaviours.
Cadia Valley Operations is located approximately 25kms south of the scenic and historic community of Orange, NSW. The region offers a diverse range of dining, shopping, nightlife, sporting amenities and tourist attractions. Bathurst is 30 minutes drive east, the Blue Mountains 1 hour, Sydney, Canberra and the coast are within 3.5 hours drive.
The successful candidate will be relocated to Orange and receive a competitive remuneration package.
