Field Engineer



Key Requirement
  • Job requires 70-75% travel, majority being worldwide travel. Any weekend travel to be compensated with vacation days
Key Skills

  • Practical working knowledge of electronics.
  • High skill level with computers in general including Windows OS, various other software
  • applications, computer networking issues and hardware issues.
  • Exposure to communication and database protocols (ODBC, OPC, SQL, 4-20 mA analog).
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve in the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Field Engineering for all phases of Split-Online system implementation:
  • Liaise with client for system service and support.
  • Assist in on-site system installation and commissioning:
  • Coordinate on-site system start-up, configure software settings and coordinate belt-samples for calibration procedure.
Assist with in-house and on-site follow up to close out project:
  • Complete system calibration, write commissioning/installation report detailing system installation and calibration results and tie up “loose ends” on project.
  • Continue customer service role with support of systems under annual service agreements, by maintaining monthly systems status and operation.
  • In-house hardware/software integration and testing: Assemble and wire equipment, pre-test equipment and pre-load and configure software.
  • Report to and support Senior Projects Manager and Director of Sales.
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer service and support related to our Annual Service Contracts, which include routine maintenance, free software upgrades and emergency technical support.
  • Provide Split-Online data interpretation for clients, as value-added service.
  • Assist in developing new products centered on the Split software.
  • Candidate will be expected to ascend the learning curve regarding the software side of our business,
  • Split-Desktop and Split-Online applications, as well as become knowledgeable with all aspects of the hardware integrated in the Split-Online system.
  • A candidate with prior industry experience will be preferred since they will be able to immediately provide value added data interpretation and consulting services to our clients and product research and development to Split Engineering.

Education and Experience:
  • Associates/Technical Degree or B.S. Engineering.
  • Experience at supervisory level or above.
  • Relevant industry and/or project management experience preferred.
