The role
  • Reporting directly to the President OZ Canada you will work closely with the Safety, Health & Environment team to design, implement, and lead/operate SHE programs to reduce risk.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the implementation of a risk based SHE management system
  • Integrating competency and training program
  • Instilling a "think safe, work safe" attitude in our everyday work practices
  • Recognizing SHE  opportunities and initiating enhancements based around existing standards
  • Developing and/or optimizing existing site specific standards, policies and procedures in relation to SHE
 
The successful candidate
  • You're a degree qualified SHE professional who has developed and implemented effective and measurable  SHE systems
  • Ideally your background is in mining/exploration but backgrounds in heavy industry or manufacturing will also be considered
  • Your effective communication skills and strong leadership ability has seen you demonstrate success in improving results across multiple worksites.
  • A current working knowledge of Federal and Provincial Health Safety and Environment legislation is required.
  • Risk management experience is an asset.
 
In order to build relationships with key stakeholders, regular travel will be a part of this role.
