We are presently looking for Mineral Processing Engineer to be involved with engineering associated with continuous improvements and technology development, including piloting and step out technology. Typically the work is geared at environmental performance, unit cost reduction or significant production increments and involves integrated flowsheet optimizations.
The scope of this Development team encompasses everything through Mining, Extraction and Tailings technologies. Collaboration with the Edmonton based Research department is required to ensure alternative technologies have specific plant applications. Work with Research, external research agencies and Universities is often required for development and evaluation of conceptual flowsheets. Upon successful Research demonstrations, pilot plant facilities may be required to minimize scale up risk. Development generally leads these activities until full project funding is secured. In this diverse field of work, we are looking for highly motivated individuals in the specialty areas of Mineral Process, Extractive Metallurgical, Geotechnical Materials Handling and Mining Engineering
This Mineral Processing Engineer position will work with the Bitumen Production Development Equipment and Process Team to meet the immediate and long-term needs of the team.
Work will involve evaluating and recommending process equipment and systems application potential toward meeting our goals for production and unit costs. Applications worked by this team are typically leading edge innovation. The work therefore, will involve conceptual applicability of systems, as well as design and system development, including pilot plant testing.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Mineral or Process Engineering
- APEGGA member or qualify to be one
- Eight or more years of experience
- Working knowledge of Mining/Plant operations
Assets include:
- Experience in the oilsands industry
- Proficiency with Matabal, Caeser, and the Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Srong leadership and mentoring skills
- Well developed interpersonal, motivational, communication and team skills
- Physical activity my be required and all employees are subject to a health assessment prior to commencing work.
