Cracow Gold Mine in Central Queensland (154km SE of Biloela) is an underground operation with high grade epithermal gold mineralisation. With a team of 150 people, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with talented mining professionals and enjoy an attractive fly in/ fly out lifestyle from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
This is a great opportunity to have the best of world's, great career opportunities and the lifestyle of sunny Queensland! You will be responsible for undertaking effective exploration programs with the aim of making an economic discovery that satisfies Newcrest’s investment criteria.
The responsibilities of this position will include but not limited to the following :
· Mineral exploration including the participation in exploration programs as directed, with delegated levels of authority and responsibility
· Participate as directed, to explore for major gold deposits using whatever techniques are deemed appropriate and most cost-effective
· Monitor external contractors and support staff in the execution of approved work programs
· Ensure that the necessary geological, analytical, metallurgical and engineering data are progressively accumulated at the appropriate level of confidence to enable the potential use of discovered mineralisation to be determined.
· Participate in the programs necessary to estimate the tonnage and grade of discovered mineralisation, as well as the geological structure and engineering geology properties of the identified resource, to inferred resource status
· Planning work activities and resource utilisation to achieve required outcomes effectively and efficiently
· Continuous development of own capabilities to ensure skill and knowledge levels continue to meet the work requirements including monitoring own work performance against role requirements and personal Performance Plan
· Staying abreast of external leading-practice developments and continually interpreting the implications of these developments for Newcrest
· Analysing and addressing areas for skills development and participating in Newcrest development programs and external programs as appropriate
To be a success in this position you will possess the following key skills, experience and attributes :
· BSc (Geology) Hons
· Australian Drivers Licence
· Minimum 1 year exploration experience
