Mining Engineer/ Hydrogeologist

For a chemical producer in the high desert area of California, well out of the expensive metro
areas. In this position you will have duties in the field and office:
- Primary responsibility includes monitoring of wellfield
operations and reporting of wellfield performance.
- Supervision of remote data acquisition systems and
maintenance of data integrity from well field, development of geological and
operation models using various software and programming from active field data.
- Optimize wellfield operations through computer modeling,
field observations and data analysis.
- Engineer new technical solutions to enhance wellfield
systems
- Manage contract construction projects including pipeline,
earthwork, drilling, power distribution, electrical and instrumentation
installation.
- Maintain geographic information systems, including
geophysical logging data and drilling records.
- Manage multiple projects with multiple contractors.
- Interact with various governmental agencies including the
EPA and BLM.
To be considered you need:
- Bachelor
degree in Engineering or Geological Science, strong computer skills, previous
experience wellfield operations and construction, ability to work outdoors on
regular basis, strong mechanical understanding of piping and pipeline systems,
background in drilling technology and well installation.
- Ability to understand the chemistry of solution mining
technology and production of sodium salts.
- Previous work experience of 2 - 5 years.
