This vacancy represents an impressive opportunity for a tertiary qualified mining engineer to take a major step in their career and join an employer able to offer exciting long term prospects. The Production Engineer will be based at an underground operation that is recognised globally as having a world class geological resource. Historically this mine has been one of the highest yielding and reliable sources of gold in the world so this is an exciting project to be involved in.
This role will report to the Senior Mining Engineer and will offer the successful candidate the scope to gain a broad level of exposure across a range of engineering functions including production planning, scheduling and drill and blast.
In this role the main responsibilities will include:
· Daily production and development activities
· Coordinating survey control, geological, and geotechnical requirements
· Designing, monitoring, coordinating drill and blast activities
· Some project work
The successful candidate will ideally have:
· Degree in Engineering (Mining) or other relevant qualification
· Previous experience using Datamine, Surpac or Vulcan software
· Drill and blast planning and scheduling experience
· Outstanding organisational and communication skills
· 2+ years underground experience in a production capacity
