Senior Drill & Blast Engineer
|
· Stellar site / popular location
· Modern accommodation
· High remuneration
Our client, one of Queensland's key coal producers, has a requirement for a Senior Drill & Blast Engineer, at their large open-cut coal mine in the southern end of [Location]. The first thing you will notice as soon as you walk on this site is the GREAT CULTURE - you can feel it in the air! Wanting to maintain the ethos of 'being a great place to work', this company is very selective in who they employ and are seeking a highly skilled Mining Engineer to contribute both technically and culturally.
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, as the Senior Drill & Blast Engineer, you will be responsible for:
· Drill and blast design and scheduling
· Managing shot crew and liaising with contractors
· Reviewing drill and blast activities to optimise output
· Managing budgets and maintaining explosive stock levels
· Continuous improvement and implementation of best practice
Working on a technically demanding site, with 20 blasts per month, you will not be bored in this role. You will continue to be challenged in your quest to optimise blasting techniques and will be developed further through training and mentoring.
The location is ideal for both singles and those with a family; it offers a broad range of sporting activities, direct flights to [Location] as well as easy access to the coast. Our client owns more houses in the town than it has employees and can offer the best accommodation for you and your family in a large house with recently renovated bathroom and kitchen - the wife will love it!
This role will suite an experienced mining engineer with a solid background in drill and blast at an open-cut coal mine in Australia.
