Chief Ventilation Officer

Our client is one of the largest refineries of precious metals in the world.
They employ over 30 000 employees worldwide.

The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
·         A certificate in Mine Environmental Control
·         5 years’ experience in a ventilation department on a metalliferous mine
·         A valid Code 08 driver’s licence with own transport
·         A valid medical certificate or medically fit to obtain such a certificate
·         Computer literacy (MS Office)
·         Sound knowledge and understanding of the legal aspects related to ventilation and occupational hygiene
·         Good interpersonal relations
·         Experience in Deep Level Trackless Board and Pillar Mining
·         Highly motivated, assertive and excellent analytical skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
·         Managing a Ventilation/Occupational Hygiene Department on a shaft
·         Providing expert advice and services to manage ventilation, occupational hygiene, emergency preparedness
·         Response, rescue, fire prevention and hazardous substances in his/her area of responsibility.
