Chief Geologist
|
Primary Mission: Management of DRC Geology program, teams, staff, payroll, expenses and technical geology.
To represent the organisation on technical forums and contribute, operationalize the exploration program.
Relations:
· All Frontier Departments on the Mine Site, particularly General Management, HR, Administration, Purchasing and Maintenance
· All administrations in the area (social authorities, medical authorities, education authorities, energy and water providers, etc)
· All organizations capable to assist (NGOs and others)
Core Accountabilities:
Departmental management
· Management of staff schedules, rotations, transport, personal issues
· Sorting out of medical issues
· Handling employee relations issues
· Approves pay-roll reconciliations
· Approves time sheets and on job activities
Geological Reporting
· Analysis and compilation of external reporting
· Technical input into annual reports and governmental reporting
· Day to day reporting on geological exploration issues
Financial Management
· Approval of day to day expenditure
Technical Geology
· Geological interpretation
· Site visits and recommendations based on observable geology
· Technical consultancy on potential exploration geology
· Interpretation of deposit sizes based on previous experience and papers conducted
Required Profile:
· Knowledge of the Congolese ore reserves and ore body
· Managing National DRC staff
· Recognition of exploration time table
· Post graduate in exploration geology
· Exploration best practices
· Background in Geophysics
· Bachelor degree in Human Sciences (Social, Psychology, Medical) or equivalent.
· Excellent command of both English and French
· Computer literacy
