Contract management expatriate position in the Mining Sector (smelting & refining) in the Philippines.
The package will be in line with the seniority of the position and take cognizance of experience and qualifications.
Division:
· Metallurgical Laboratory and Production Quality
Reports to:
· Refining and MLPQD Vice President & will be managing a staff of + 80 people.
Basic Functions:
Responsible for carrying out assigned materials and product inspections and tests
Develop, maintain and improve established divisional policies and procedure, objectives, quality assurance program, safety environmental and infection control standard.
Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in materials and product inspecting and testing ensuring that company and product quality requirements are met
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
· Plans and manages the overall division budget and manpower levels according to internal and external customer requirements and production schedule requirements, budget control objectives, and the business plan
· Plans, directs, controls, co-ordinates, and evaluates metallurgical laboratory and production quality management functions.
· Controls and verifies all materials and products being tested and inspected
· Prepares procedures and development sampling, inspecting and testing systems with embodied maximum utilization of established laboratory standards and technologies to achieve minimum delivery time and required accuracy.
· Analyzes market and customer conditions to determine present and future laboratory services availability and prepares materials and product analysis reports and implement improvement opportunities.
· Responsible for maintaining on-time delivery targets, monitoring and measuring the performance of metallurgical laboratory and production quality management functions to source feedback as basis for improvement.
· Reviews analysis and reports for conformance to laboratory standards and company policy and in compliance with legal and corporate specifications.
· Develops and installs clerical and office procedures and practices, and studies work flow, sequence of operations, and office arrangement to determine expediency of installing new or improved office machines and systems.
· May be involved with production planning, procurement, and customer service on a limited basis or as need arises.
· Ensures that the objective of the division would conform to over-all company’s objectives.
· Arranges and manages for disposal of laboratory waste chemicals and materials.
· Ensure that company programs especially on quality, environmental and other management system are implemented and continually reviewed and improved

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, with license
· Working knowledge in computer, laboratory management system (Mining)
· At least 7 years of relevant working experience
