Our client, an open mining operation, is seeking a Mine Manager for its mine located near[Location].
The Opportunity
The position of Mine Manager requires a seasoned self-starter with extensive background in operation of mines. The Mining and Exploration White Paper serves as the guiding principles of the operation of the Company's mines, as well as the wise use of our mineral resources.
Key to this operation is adherence to all three phases of the Mine Plan and principle responsibility for generation of the most detailed and specific of these, the Annual Material Movement Plan. The Mine Manager must work intensively with Mining and Exploration in the Lowest Sustainable Mining Cost Program.
This interaction will be on a dotted line relationship, whereas the direct reporting line will be to the Plant Manager. Beyond implementation of LSMC, the close interaction will continue with M & E.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operation of the Company's mines.
- Generation and adherence to the annual Operating Budget for the mine.
- Reporting and analysis of performance through the use of Key Performance Indicators.
- Supervision and daily management of all operating personnel in the mine.
- Supervision and daily management of all vendors, including contract mining operations.
- Creation and maintenance of a safe work place.
- Adherence to the Mine Plan (including Life of Mine, Five Year, and Annual Material Movement) and Reclamation.
- Generation and implementation of the Annual Capital Program.
- Implementation and adherence to the Quality Control program provided in the Mine Plan.
- Collection of standard volume and tonnage data.
- Ongoing recordation of mined volumes and quality on the Mine Map.
- Collection of operating cost data as prescribed in the Lowest Sustainable Mining Cost program, coded as required by the Material Cost Accounting system adapted CLC wide.
- Interpretation of data and formulation of action plans to drive operation toward Theoretical Best Cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
- Ten years+ experience in mining with heavy emphasis in production.
- Detailed working knowledge of mine planning, quality control, reclamation, budgeting and capital planning.
- Ability to conduct business analysis, recommend actions and report on progress.
- Analytical skills are required to work through the Company's operating budget, capital planning and performance progress through the use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
