Automated Weld Engineer

We are currently looking to add an Automated Weld Engineer to[Location].
Responsibilities:
- Investigate, implement, and maintain the most advanced, cost effective, robotic/automated welding methods, processes, procedures and equipment.
- Investigate ideas, implement plans to reduce cost, improve throughput, and improve weld quality through robotic/automated welding applications.
- Make necessary contacts to develop and implement robotic/automated welding applications for[Company] .
- Coordinate robotic/automated welding activities with Plant Management, suppliers, and shop supervision to review robotic capital expenditure proposals.
- Develop part-welding programs utilizing engineering drawings, CAM software, and detailed sequence of operation routings.
- Specify tooling and fixturing for welding processes, working closely with tool design, and tooling engineer.
- Work on any routine or special project assignments.
- Develop new directions in welding, fabrication, and robotics.
- Establish robotic/automated welding parameters.
- Develop new robotic/automated welding procedures and processes.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Assurance in developing new robotic welding methods and routings to insure proper procedures and maintain quality at lowest cost.
- Assist and recommend to Product Design Engineering, fabrication and robotic welding design policies regarding quality maintenance, documentation and improvement, design for manufacturability and assembly, and maintain or decrease the associated costs.
Qualifications:
- BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Management.
- Six or more years of experience in Robotic/Automated Welding applications.
- Experience with integration, implementation, programming, troubleshooting, and testing of robotic welding systems.
- Experience with related mathematics and computer languages used in manufacturing.
- Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills and strong communication skills.
Desired:
BS degree in Welding Engineering.
