Position Summary:

This position will successfully perform all tasks of the Maintenance 2 position as defined by the Job Tasks Analysis (JTA) and support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.  Employees in the Maintenance 2 classification will actively participate in training to advance to the 3M** or 3E** classification within the time frame outlined in their training plan.  Training will consist of OJT, instructor-led, and text-based material.

Essential Functions:

  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to accomplish goals; performs all tasks as defined by the JTA.
  • Organizes all company-provided tools and return to proper work space.
  • Performs emergency/unscheduled and basic preventative maintenance repairs of production equipment as qualified.
  • Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments as defined by JTA.
  • Obtains appropriate certifications/licenses required to operate variety of equipment in performing duties.
  • Detects faulty operations and defective equipment; reports those and any unusual situations to management.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Records all spare parts used on the work order to ensure proper re-order.
  • Trains/coaches employees in the Maintenance 1 classification.
  • Follows and adheres to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position and department, and as required by ISO.
  • Complies with all federal or state laws and regulations and company policy and procedures.
  • Conducts workplace exams for all daily work areas; immediately resolves and/or reports hazardous conditions; properly secures all guarding immediately following repairs.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Job Requirements and Skill Sets:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of Maintenance 2 Knowledge Test and demonstration of ability to successfully perform critical tasks in a controlled environment (coupling alignment, belt/chain drive installation, oxygen/acetylene cutting and arc welding.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical devices throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Basic knowledge with computers and computer applications including Computerized Management Maintenance Systems (CMMS).
  • Must wear all required PPE including electrical and respiratory equipment as required.
  • Valid driver’s license required; valid forklift license/AMI forklift training and score 85% or better on the Kenexa FLO test.
  • Must be able to complete projects and assignments from inception to completion. Respirator Fit Test is required at hire; no facial hair can interfere with the seal of the respirator at pre-hire and annual fit test screening.
