POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of various maintenance employees. This includes our own fleet of trucks, dozers, cranes, and up to 400-ton haul trucks! In addition, the position may cover major ore processing facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of work crews in field maintenance of all equipment resulting in minimum downtime and operating costs.
  • Assign duties and proper work schedules to ensure effective utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Monitor project status, ensure materials are available for employees, and inspect equipment for proper functioning.
  • Monitor employee performance and take corrective action when necessary, consistent with collective bargaining agreement and/or policies.
  • Track inventory and submit work orders in SAP.
  • Ensure compliance with Total Safety Culture Program.
  • Administer interactive management for employee-related issues.
  • Monitor employee behavior and mine operating conditions to ensure safe working environment consistent with company, local, state, and federal safety standards.
  • Administer work procedures in accordance with collective bargaining agreement and/or company policies.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must have above average knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and ability to read all schematics.
  • Must have a working knowledge of diesel engines.
  • The ability to troubleshoot, perform maintenance planning, project management, and predictive management is desirable.
  • Must have good computer skills with MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and knowledge of SAP a plus.
  • Must demonstrate the highest commitment to health and safety.
  • Must demonstrate the highest commitment to environmental compliance.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities.
  • Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks.


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma plus a degree/certification in at least one maintenance skilled trade or equivalent life experience. More than one significant skilled trade or significant exposure a plus.
  • Must have experience using maintenance parts and supplies inventory program.
  • Experience with a database management program, such as SAP, a plus.
  • Experience in supervision or team leadership in maintenance preferred.
  • MSHA certification a plus.
