Reporting to the General Manager this role is responsible for government relations, external relations, communications, social responsibility, environmental systems and services.

This role is not only to maintain the status quo but to actively examine opportunities for costs and continuous improvement.

To achieve this, you will be responsible for:
  • Delivery and execution of a site ER&Splan
  • Planning, development, implementation and continual audit of ERs systems
  • Offsetting closure liability through concurrent rehabilitation programs
  • Management and reporting of internal and external compliance conditions
  • Securing government approvals
  • Development of departmental personnel.
To be successful in this endeavour we believe you will require:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Science
  • 10 plus years' experience in environmental and management in mining
  • Extensive knowledge of Western Australia's environmental statutes
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to apply environmental laws and regulations
  • The ability to communicate the company's position on environmental issues
  • An understanding of mine management
  • Experience in community engagement
  • Experience with Aboriginal Heritage
  • Experience with environmental management systems and ISO14000
  • Experience in concurrent rehabilitation and monitoring.
