The Role - A011746 - Mechanical Engineer - Watkins, CO
• Design, develop, analyze and test automated systems through the use of mechanical, control, and electrical engineering disciplines.
• Design, build, test and modify product prototypes, including mechanical systems and other electronic components.
• Contribute to ongoing product support after design release through product validation testing and manufacturing to product end-of-life.

Qualifications
• B.S., M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 3 - 5 years of experience designing and developing mechanical and electromechanical systems by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials
• 3 - 5 years of CAD experience - SolidWorks Prefered
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pnuematic system design

Experience and Knowledge
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, sheet metal, plastic molding.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and fabrication techniques such as Stereo Lithography (SLA) and providing conceptual designs for marketing and design review purposes.
• Methodologies such as Design of Experiments (DOE practices) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Knowledge of statistical processes and controls, and their application to data analysis and decision-making.
• Tools such as Solidworks, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Labview
• Experience utilizing GD&T
• Knowledge of common mechanical and control system engineering principles used in design, including servo and hydraulic actuated robotics with control philosophies.
• Experienced in SolidWorks design, PID controllers, knowledgeable about de facto coding conventions including Linux, others.
• Experienced in automated system development, including feedback control actuation, Power Transmission - Industrial - large scale Automation Preferred.
• Ability to generate appropriate project notes and documentation to track progress and present such progress in weekly meetings and routine Design Reviews in a group setting.
• Ability to grasps early design concepts and translate them into a usable design. At times, starting with a focus on rapid prototyping / functional testing and ending with DFM consideration.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work on multiple tasks.
• Generate Bills of Materials and detailed Drawings for all Main and Sub-Assemblies of Design. Generate clear and concise work, assembly, and user instructions.
• Enter Item Master Specifications and Bills of Materials (with supporting relevant documents) into EPDM system to complement production drawings.
• A thorough understanding of common engineering standards for mobile equipment product development (3D modelling, design & drafting, GD&T).
