[Company] Corporation is a zinc-focused base metals mining company with producing operations in Peru and Canada. In Peru, the Company is actively producing zinc and lead-silver concentrates from its Santander mine and 2,000-tonne-per-day metallurgical plant. In Canada, the Caribou mine declared commercial production in July 2016 and is advancing its mine and mill complex towards the planned 3,000 tonnes-per-day operation. Caribou currently employs 300 employees.

Trevali's Caribou Mine is situated just outside of Bathurst, New Brunswick. Bathurst is considered to be one of the most picturesque communities in Canada in close proximity to a mining operation. It is home to a regional hospital, French and English schools and a wide variety of outdoor activities including golf, swimming (beautiful beaches), hockey, curling, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, fishing and hunting to name a few. Bathurst has an airport that offers daily service to Montreal and it is near the larger centers of Moncton and Fredericton which are easily accessible by main highways. Housing costs are very reasonable when looking at the national average, and the cost of living is lower than in many similar sized mining communities.

Job Posting No. 004-2018 Spring/Summer Mine Dispatch Engineering Co-op Student

[Company] (New Brunswick) Limited's Caribou Mine is seeking Mine Dispatch Engineering Co-op Students for the spring/summer term. The incumbents will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring fleet is maintained with proper delay/down/operational statuses;
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained operating according to plan;
  • Maintaining and monitoring mine model issues;
  • Reassigning resources based on operational needs;
  • Monitoring production metrics to communicate any variances to the Supervisor;
  • Other duties as required.

  • Working towards a degree or diploma in a related discipline;
  • Valid Driver's License and transportation to site;
  • An understanding of drill-blast-load-haul mining sequence;
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to successfully communicate and work with the Mine Technical Services Team;
  • Ability to engage/communicate with crew, and provide positive and constructive feedback;
  • Familiarity with mine operations dispatch systems;
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office software).
