[Company] Corporation is a zinc-focused base metals mining company with producing operations in Peru and Canada. In Peru, the Company is actively producing zinc and lead-silver concentrates from its Santander mine and 2,000-tonne-per-day metallurgical plant. In Canada, the Caribou mine declared commercial production in July 2016 and is advancing its mine and mill complex towards the planned 3,000 tonnes-per-day operation. Caribou currently employs 300 employees.

Trevali's Caribou Mine is situated just outside of Bathurst, New Brunswick. Bathurst is considered to be one of the most picturesque communities in Canada in close proximity to a mining operation. It is home to a regional hospital, French and English schools and a wide variety of outdoor activities including golf, swimming (beautiful beaches), hockey, curling, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, fishing and hunting to name a few. Bathurst has an airport that offers daily service to Montreal and it is near the larger centers of Moncton and Fredericton which are easily accessible by main highways. Housing costs are very reasonable when looking at the national average, and the cost of living is lower than in many similar sized mining communities.

Job Posting No. 005-2018 Summer/Fall Mine Engineer Co-op Student Posted: February 2nd, 2018

[Company] (New Brunswick) Limited's Caribou Mine is seeking a Mine Engineer Co-op Student for the summer/fall term. The incumbent will be responsible for:
  • Creating and distributing Key Performance Indicator reports;
  • Assisting with weekly drawings to demonstrate mine advancement and forecast future development;
  • Assisting with performance reports;
  • Assisting in the surveying of the mine site and the development of drawings;
  • Creating weekly driving layouts;
  • Responsible for the weekly ore and waste pile sampling;
  • Maintaining the equipment inventory;
  • Other duties as required.

  • Working towards a BSc in Mining Engineering or other related discipline;
  • Valid Driver's License and transportation to site;
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team;
  • Good time management, organizing, and prioritizing skills;
  • Self-motivated, energetic and proactive;
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work within a diverse workplace;
  • Strong Microsoft Office software and AutoCAD skills;
  • Knowledge of 3D mine modeling software and Amine is an asset.
