Mine Geologist

An opportunity currently exists for a Mine Geologist to join our Geology team at our Mine Operation.This position is responsible for the direct input of geological data into all areas of mining activities including pit and production work, data recording, interpretation and modelling and using mine modelling software, maps and plans.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide guidance to Operations Planning and Mining to maximise ore recovery and minimise dilution.
  • Complete timely preparation of ore block-out and carry out mining hygiene pit inspections.
  • Maintain geological block-out to predefined standards.
  • Provide safe workplace and adherence to SWIs and JHAs during all activities
  • Participation in mining hygiene improvement project
  • Development of key technical skills required as Mine Geologist

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Two years plus experience in a similar role in open pit mining
  • Geology qualifications- BSc or above
  • Strong geology software skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Fundamental mine geology and reconciliation knowledge
