Job Description

  • Assisting with key tasks for long-range transportation planning, corridor planning, freight planning, traffic studies, and NEPA work.
  • Performing field review, data collection, and site/infrastructure assessments.
  • Writing and preparation of technical reports and documents, presentation materials.
  • Collect, organize, and manage data to conduct transportation studies
  • Utilize GIS and other tools including Microsoft Office programs to provide data-driven analysis for planning studies
  • Knowledge of CUBE, TransCAD, GIS, Synchro and related transportation planning software
  • Participate in meetings with clients, members of the public, and other stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in arts, planning, engineering, or a science. Or Masters Degree in planning, engineering, science, or environmental science/management.
  • Experience: 1 year of related experience with bachelors degree or 0 years of experience with Masters degree.
  • Experience with CEQA/NEPA requirements is a plus. Knowledge of commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, Access) expected. Candidate must have excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work requires use of computers for extended periods, resulting in prolonged use of computer keyboard and exposure to computer monitors. Work also involves occasional field-work on a variety of sites and under a wide range of environmental conditions.
