Job Description

  • This position has the flexibility to be based in either Bellevue, WA or Irvine, CA.
  • Assist with key tasks for NEPA and environmental compliance work.
  • Perform field review, data collection, and impact analyses for various environmental resources.
  • Write and prepare technical reports, documents, and presentation materials.
  • Collect, organize, and manage data.
  • Prepare NEPA documentation and permit applications.
  • Plan and participate in stakeholder meetings, public workshops, and public hearings.
  • Utilize GIS and other tools including Microsoft Office programs to provide data-driven analysis for planning studies.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, members of the public, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in arts, planning, engineering, or a science required.
  • 5+ minimum years of relevant experience since Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to analyze technical information and synthesize results into reports suitable for general public review.
  • Experience adhering to budget, scope, and schedule constraints.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills (reports), strong verbal communication skills, and preferably comfortable with giving presentations to internal and external clients and audiences.
  • Experience analyzing compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other applicable laws, implementing regulations, and Executive Orders, as well as experience preparing necessary documents to demonstrate compliance, is required.
  • Knowledge of compliance measures for ESA, CWA, CAA, NHPA, EO 11990, EO 11988, and EO 12898.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with State environmental compliance laws such as SEPA and CEQA is a plus.
  • Experience analyzing Categorical Exclusions, writing Environmental Assessments and/or Environmental Impact Statements, and permit application preparation is preferred.
  • Certification and/or Master's degree in planning, science, or environmental science/management.
