Transports raw and processed aggregate from pit to crusher and/or from mill to stockpiles in dump truck having capacity of up to 50 tons or more.

Job will require to drive a tank truck to transport water for construction projects, inert landfills or mine sites to provide water for use in dust suppression.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Receives loading instructions from Plant Operator. Positions truck in aisle under mill to receive load of processed aggregate products from overhead storage bins. May operate lever of button on mill to load own truck. Transports load to stockpiles and, at some locations, asphalt plants and underground concrete batch plant aggregate storage. Backs into position and raises truck bed to unload material and to lower bed down again by operating lever inside truck’s cab. Occasionally transports raw materials and stock from one are of yard to another.

Dust Control:

  • Fills tank of Water Truck with water at beginning of and throughout shift as necessary. May be required to add chemical to water. Drives Water Truck inside yard while operating sprayers to achieve and maintain appropriate yard surface moisture.

Vehicle Maintenace And Other:  

  • Performs pre-and post trip vehicle safety inspections and reports vehicle condition. Checks all vehicle fluid levels at the beginning of shift and fuels vehicle as needed. Cleans vehicle and drains brake air lines at end of shift. Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.
  • Hours: 2:30pm-11:00pm M-F, some weekend work may be required.


  • Desired minimum qualifications: Ability to drive and operate equipment under varying conditions; ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally; ability to observe proper safety precautions; ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and the public; ability to make independent judgments which have considerable impacts on the organization.
  • The employee is required to possess a valid California driver license. A Commercial driver license maybe required depending on the location. The employer prefers the employee possess one year previous experience operating off-road equipment or driving a vehicle with a shifting load. Driver may be required to pass DOT physical/drug screen. Employee is required to meet [Company] Driver Qualification Standards.
  • At locations where the water truck is operated on a public thoroughfare, the employee possesses at a minimum a valid California Class ‘B’, Commercial Driver License with Tanker Endorsements.
