Job Description
This position is for an electrical engineering summer Intern for Plant Engineering’s N. Charleston, SC office.
This position is designed to introduce a recent or near graduate to the various aspects of electrical engineering in support of industrial clients. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a team of experienced engineers.
Areas of Emphasis
The successful candidate will be exposed to and expected to develop basic skills and understanding with regard to:
• Development of power system one-line diagrams.
• Basic power system analysis techniques, including arc-flash analysis.
• Equipment sizing and application.
• Development of equipment and installation specifications.
• Development of cable, conduit schedules.
• Fundamentals of industrial control systems (PLC and DCS) practices.
• Development of I/O lists, process flow diagrams, etc.

The specific areas of electrical engineering the intern will be exposed to will be dependent on the specific client projects in the office during the internship period.

• Must have completed their junior year in an electrical engineering curriculum from an accredited university. Candidates who have recently graduated with their undergraduate degree and pursing an advanced degree will be favorably evaluated.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Due to the sensitive nature of U.S. Government projects executed by the N. Charleston office, candidates must be a U.S. citizenPreferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent appropriate General Certificates of Secondary Education or global equivalent required
• Basic computer and software skills
• Basic interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalDiverse Workforce
