POSITION SYNOPSIS:

SAEC is providing Practical Training exposure opportunities to students (students is defined as students currently studying at any recognised tertiary institution that requires experiential work exposure in the working environment) with qualifications in Mining related disciplines - Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Human Resources, Health, Safety and Environmental, Finance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Serious contenders will have a Grade 12 with
  • proof of registration as a student together with the index/ Work exposure outcomes as certified by the University depending of field of study.


CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The contents of the Vacation work Program will be managed by the student in conjunction with the departmental HOD through relevant subject matter experts/ coach of the department where the employee is gaining practical experience from;

HOD must align the contents of the program with the competency requirements of the relevant function and the relevant operational needs of the role;

Ensure that the content foster the acquisition of competencies through carefully planned, selected, structured and managed practical training work assignments within certain time frames. These competencies should enable vacation work student to demonstrate the competencies learned;

The following points will guide the outline in the development plan/ program for vacation students- 1) Business Unit requirements, Job and project aligned selected training) Critical Cross Field outcomes of specific qualification requirements as guided by the Universtity.
