The position is to identify, own and deliver strategic, company-wide projects to utilise our land holdings for shared environmental, social and economic value, called 'Intelligent Land Management'.

Accountabilities:

  • Owns the [Company] Intelligent Land Management Plan
  • Develops and manages specific cross-functional projects to continue progress against the Plan
  • Identifies and manages strategic partners and budgets for delivery against objectives
  • Leads strategic identification process on risks and opportunities
  • Works to embed improved process into Business-As-Usual work
  • Delivers research and analysis to inform Sustainability Strategy, Reporting and disclosure
  • Represents [Company] in specific external groups
  • Tracks progress and oversees Reporting under related company-wide initiatives
  • Provides capacity building and training to internal stakeholders
  • Prepares Papers for the Board on ILM.
  • Provide support to the Manager of Sustainability Strategy for delivery of projects.
  • Works within the frameworks and policies and corporate level documents for the Sustainability function.
  • Takes a leadership role in managing sub-critical projects to support the sustainability strategy, including engagement with teams and managing adherence to corporate deadlines.
  • Promotes awareness of the Sustainability function and builds cross-functional integration through collaboration with other stakeholders.


Technical/Specialist Skills Required:

  • Specific technical knowledge on Biodiversity, Land Management, Social Impact and application in the context of a multi-location, diversified company.
  • Knowledge and proven ability to identify, develop and manage large-scale and regionally important company-wide projects to identify and manage risk, create shared value and continually improve social performance.
  • Knowledge of carbon and biodiversity offsetting and associated financial mechanisms
  • Broad knowledge of international sustainability trends and developments
  • High level of expertise in research and analysis.
  • Exposure to investor community (ESG)
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve business integration and excellence in project implementation.
  • Highly developed project management skills and ability to prioritise actions that have the largest impact on the business
  • Outstanding influencing and communication skills.
  • Superior peer-to-peer teamwork and collaboration skills, challenges others, manages conflict and facilitates input in the form of ideas, views and expertise.
