Tetra Tech ICE division is a multidisciplinary team of designers, technologists, and engineers. We specialize in small to mid-sized projects for clients across Canada. The types of clients we work for include:

We are currently searching for a Process Engineer to join our team in Calgary . Reporting to the Lead Process Engineer, the successful candidate will provide engineering and technical support, working with a group of other process engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Working with clients and project team to scope out projects, establish project objectives and coordinate and/or resolve design issues
  • Executing process tasks within budget and schedule
  • Performing computer simulations using HYSYS, AFT, and Pipe Flo system hydraulic software
  • Sizing of equipment such as vessels, pump, compressors, pipelines, heat exchangers, control valves and pressure safety valves (PSVs)
  • Developing Process documents such as Process Design Basis PDBs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Line Designation Tables (LDTs)Interfacing with other disciplines, clients, and vendors
  • Author Operating Manuals and calculation summary reports
  • Facilitating and/or participating in process hazards analysis studies/sessions


Qualifications
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • A minimum of 10+ years design experience in the Oil and Gas industry (crude refining, product metering , gas processing and oil sands) with either an EPC or operating company is required
  • Experience with regulatory body design and application requirements (ABSA, AER, TSBC, OGC, NEB) is required
  • Experience with pipeline gathering systems and transmission system hydraulics , metering systems and over pressure protection systems is required for this position
  • Experience with transient hydraulics is an asset for this position
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain positi ve client and project team relationships
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and managing a team of process engineers is considered an asset
  • Good understanding of applicable industry codes and standard practices
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines

SOFTWARE AND SYSTEMS:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications
  • Proficiency with HYSYS, AFT and Pipe-Flo software

EDUCATION:
  • Graduate of an accredited Chemical Engineering Degree program
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with APEGA or EGBC

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Travel within Canada periodically to client sites and offices is required
  • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screen
