  • The Product Support & Logistics Division currently has an opening for a Product Supply Manager located in the Peoria, IL area.  The Product Supply Manager Role is aligned with PS&LD at a Product Manager level and is the accountable manager on behalf of Procurement to deliver a lean, responsive and resilient material and services flow for the Undercarriage & GET from source to MBD/PS&LD facilities and outbound shipment of goods.  This role will deliver 10% cost reduction over 24 months driving innovation and challenging the way we do things.

Job Duties:

  • Major Role - To manage the relationship between Procurement and the Business Unit, including representing supply management at the MBD/EBD/CBD business table, being the trusted advisor on the supply markets, and collaboration leader of product and process from the supply side. This person works directly with the executive business unit leadership team and is most effective when co-located with the Product Group leadership. They create the Product Supply Network, and ensure collaborative projects including NPI execution are completed to the Five Rights meeting product group’s targets.
  • Strategy - This position will maintain strategically-aligned project portfolio and opportunity pipeline including Line of Sight toward the business unit’s/products Common Goals and KPI targets. Participate in corporate initiatives like value chain Enterprise Transition Team pilot projects, and be the Procurement lead for all sub team activities related to the supply network needs for the business unit. Leveraging the skill sets and execution knowledge within Procurement to help the Product Groups develop optimal and executable value chains.  Facilitate understanding of the Product Groups actual material flows, total product costs and relationship to the network. Provide "voice of Product Group" to Procurement and "voice of Procurement" to product group to avoid duplication, ensure strategic alignment and address areas of conflict.
  • Leadership - This position requires excellent leadership skills to effectively sponsor supply network improvements making the best use of available resources, while maintaining strong people focus and fulfilling the responsibilities for leading people. It also needs the capabilities to manage a multinational team; align people’s efforts toward the objectives; motivate & inspire people to achieve program goals, having strong business acumen to understand customer requirements and cost drivers, and their impact on the value chain and ultimately OPACC and competitive advantage.  The incumbent needs to possess extremely strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills in order to drive common value chain processes across multiple facilities for a given product. This position need advanced knowledge  of CPS, 6 Sigma processes and lean value chain principles, material flow, packaging and containerization, the corporate NPI process, facility product & engineering change control processes and analytical tools.
  • Accountable for personnel management and professional development of the product supply team. Additional functional responsibilities include: defining or approving product/component collaboration strategies, network design and governance, negotiating service level agreements, provide leadership for make/buy, NPI, align business planning, and leadership to the Engineering of Value Chains.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from a college or university
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and/or engineering
  • Previous foundry experience
  • Previous category team or product team experience

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Professional certification in Purchasing and/or Inventory Management, e.g.; Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and Certified in Integration Resource Management (CIRM), or comparable international certification
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are required in dealing with sensitive issues, developing others, and reaching consensus on specific actions
  • Functional leadership:  Experienced in leading teams, category management and customers to effective solutions
  • Analytical, problem solving, and project leadership skill
  • Effective communicator, in written and oral form
  • Fluent in the English language and preferred other languages
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles as applied by [Company] and our suppliers
