Position summary


Otraco International is the world's leading provider of Earthmover/Off-road tyre management services to the mining industry. Our world-class credentials are based on a proven ability to reduce the cost of earthmover tyre operation for major open pit miners while maximising production and enhancing safety. Entirely independent of any tyre manufacturer or supplier, we have continued to set new benchmarks in tyre performance – delivering dramatic savings with uncompromising standards of quality, safety and professionalism.

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified applicant for the role of Project Engineer, this role will be based at our Head Office in Redcliffe, WA with the expectation of regular visits to a variety of mine sites at which we operate. Reporting to the Operations Manager West, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for delivering world class services to our clients.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide technical and engineering support to the site based teams to better understand and manage the operational aspects of the business
  • Undertake regular performance analysis, identify opportunities for improvements and report on implementation and performance in keeping with our continuous improvement philosophy
  • Perform regular operational audits on quality, safety and Key Performance Indicators
  • Provide support to the site teams to ensure that Otraco quality standards are maintained in the analysis of tyre performance, and accuracy of tyre records
  • Liaise with all levels of clients organisations (from operations through to senior management) to maintain our high standards of ongoing relationship management

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or similar)
  • Competent computer use familiar with data bases, spreadsheets and Microsoft processing packages
  • Experience in a technical service role
  • Previous exposure to the mining, tyre or road construction industries would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills to deal with all levels of internal and client personnel
