The Project Engineer will be responsible for implementing capital projects as assigned from conception to completion by developing innovative ideas into cost effective, workable solutions. Specific responsibilities include:

Completing process engineering activities as required including developing flow diagrams, P&ID's, equipment specifications and layouts, preparing mass and energy balances, scope definition, gaining and reconciling project team input, preparing construction sequencing, and managing and coordinating construction activities

Developing commissioning plans and communications plans for operators and FUCHS personnel.

Working closely with operations and maintenance to ensure open communications.

Placing special focus on safety, continuous operations during construction, quality, and cost savings.

Managing capital budget for projects including preparation of capital request forms, procurement activities with equipment suppliers and local union trades, regular preparation of capital spending reports and assisting in capital planning for future quarters.

Preparing detailed project schedules outlining the proposed work processes associated with capital projects. Communicating progress on a regular bases along with schedule delays and successes.

Preparing and managing project documents including both paper and electronic files.

Ensuring compliance of FUCHS EHS Department standards, OSHA and EPA regulations.


Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering or Chemical Engineering.

5+ years of experience developing and implementing large-scale projects in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the lubricants or chemical industries highly desired.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Project and AutoCAD desired.
