Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Inspector inspects materials and products such as fabricated components, castings, electrical and hydraulic components, miscellaneous structural components and raw materials, for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Inspects and tests parts, components, materials and finished products to determine conformance to established product requirements.
  • Perform receiving inspection, assembly in process audits and returned goods inspections.
  • Processes nonconforming product, and coordinates with various departments to get product to a state of conformance.
  • Performs routine product/process audits as directed

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions and decimals. Ability to apply basic concepts of geometry related to angles, cylinders and planes.
    • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Knowledge of MS Office software; Contact Management systems; Internet software.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to use basic measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers or tape measures required.

Education and Experience:

A High School Diploma and a minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing preferably performing inspections; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with electrical, hydraulic and fabricated materials.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, smell or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; perform overhead work; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception vision.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate except when in fabrication and assembly shop environment.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 1% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
