YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the verification and recording of all quantities completed as per contractor's progress reports for each type of contract (lump sum, unit price and cost reimbursable). This position will also assist in bidding processes, bid evaluations and final account cost calculations on contracts as required.

This position is based in Calgary, Alberta and is eligible for:
• Relocation to Calgary

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
• Responsible for producing takeoffs and measuring or checking installed quantities for progress measurement, variations and changes, statistics, taxation, and valuation while adhering to high standards and in a timely manner
• Review estimates to an appropriate level of detail to support the review of contractor claims and change order requests
• Quantification and takeoffs for claims will be essential to the success of the project
• Review and verify total installed quantities for all disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation through regular review of contractor work
• Assist contract administrators in measurements for bills of quantities and also assist in tender or bid evaluations
• Validation of installed items for unit rate contract progress payments
• Collection and assemble of benchmarking data

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 5 years of industrial quantity surveying experience preferably including oil and gas or mining industry experience
• Technical or equivalent qualifications, QS designation would be desirable
• Exposure to KBase (Icarus) and other estimating software and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Prior experience in reading and understanding construction/engineering drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans, one-line diagrams, isometrics and general arrangements) is essential
• Experience in various disciplines (civil, structural, piping, electrical)
• Previous exposure to estimating packages is considered an asset
• Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office suite
