Job Description

  • The Sales Representative is primarily responsible for the execution of the area strategy. This position is a key revenue enabler by connecting the organization to the market. The territory will cover Central PA, Western NY, Eastern WV, and Western MD. The Sales Representative maintains regular contact with the customers to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Additionally, they will help to serve technical needs of the customers by either conducting training or utilizing technical resources. The role will follow-up on new business opportunities as identified by the Regional Sales Manager. Time spent managing accounts versus prospecting should be at the 50% level in both areas in order to support business objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the implementation of tactical plans to support both the sales strategy and the regional business plan, as directed by Regional Sales Manager
  • Design an area business plan that is directly linked to the regional business plan
  • Responsible for the development and continuous maintenance of the prospect list for the business area
  • Drive Growth through:
  • Strong emphasis on prospecting new companies
  • Keep the pipeline full at all times by ensuring that an active list of potential new prospects are compiled and constantly updated
  • Responsible for addressing customer concerns in collaboration with other departments/functional areas
  • Attends and support tradeshows, as well as maintain industry association relationships
  • Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting, maintain budgets, SalesLogix, and WMM reports Conduct regular [Company] site visits to obtain operational feedback and gain a clear understanding of products and operational capabilities
  • Work closely with Regional Sales Manager and operations on ensuring the product balance as it pertains to the area
  • Implement tactical plan to build strong customer relationships
  • Continually update customer and heights awareness of new products and services
  • Conduct activity and performance reporting

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in Business or related field
  • 5+ years of successful sales
  • Business development experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • 50% travel

  • Comparative market leveraging ability
  • Creating and presenting business proposals to external customers
  • Strong understanding of the markets in which they are responsible for
