[Company] Pty Ltd is an emerging gold producer with operations in Western Australia and in Northern Queensland. With its parent company based in China, the company has an active growth strategy to develop into a mid-tier producer and has immediate growth activity in place.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Mine Geologist to join us on a fulltime basis at our Southern Cross Gold Operations on a bus in and bus out basis, on an 8 day on 6 day off roster. Reporting to the Geology Manger this role is responsible for the gathering, coordination and communication of geological data for mine planning and ore extraction at Southern Cross Open Pit sites, including developing, coordinating and supervising all grade control practices.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills, qualifications & personal attributes:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology
  • Minimum 8 years post graduate geology experience
  • 5 years Open Pit mining experience in gold-underground experience will also be highly regarded
  • Experience in operational grade control demonstrating exposure to model-mine-mill reconciliation procedures
  • Strong background in Archaean gold mineralisation
  • A proven track record in the evaluation of geological databases to maximise the resource
  • Demonstrated planning, analytical, report writing and communication skills
  • High level administrative skills, including the ability to meet deadlines
  • Continuous commitment to professional development and continuous improvement within the team
  • Proficient in the use of common resource software packages like Surpac

Duties and Responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring the Geology Department provides high quality technical services to the Mining, Environmental and Processing Departments
  • Liaison with Mine Superintendents ensuring delivery to plan in accordance with the mining schedule and department budget
  • Ensure appropriate geological and mining activity reports are compiled in a timely manner
  • Effectively plan, prioritise and conduct grade control drilling and modelling
  • Mentor geologists in grade control practices
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation process
