Job Overview

[Company] Mining is seeking a Service Project Engineer in Ishpeming, Michigan.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Independently and proactively monitor, Inspect, and Report on all [Company] Mining Corporation equipment on the site. Develop relationship with mining and non-mining customers. Direct corrective actions with the customer of KMC as needed. Site project management with all Pre-PM's, PM's and coordinating jobs by KMC.

2. direct and coordinate the resolution of equipment issues the customer technicians are unable to resolve during normal working hours be the initial contact for troubleshooting machine problems, electrical or mechanical, and coordinate the appropriate resources to solve the issue. During off hours serve as the escalation point for customer issues. Resolve electrical/controls issues when feasible.

3. Assist the Account Manager as needed wit order facilitation, deliveries, quoting, mine budgeting, answering parts storage and customer fulfillment needs. Work with customers and Account Manager to develop accurate specifications for service orders. When needed, create project plan and secure needed resources for complex service jobs.

4. Oversee facility and infrastructure maintenance. help maintain a safe work environment.

5. Assist in warranty resolution while maintaining a positive relationship with the customers.

6. Provide technical assistance and provide the initial steps of machine troubleshooting. Interpret drawings and communicate information to the customer.

7. Monitor day-to-day progress of service projects, identify any discrepancies in plans or costs, and communicate information to the appropriate party.

8. Identify, help develop and implement machine improvement upgrades

Responsibilities

PREDOMINANT TASKS:

1. Machine inspection, component tracking, reporting results and managing components to the customer's needs.

2. Assist the Account Manager with sales, CSR and warehouse duties as needed to maintain the service levels for the customer and region.

3. Maintain the facility to ensure compliance with KMC standards & provide a safe, productive workplace by utilizing the CSR, Technical Service Representatives/or other KMC resources available.

4. Analyze and troubleshoot problems with the equipment which mine technicians are unable to resolve. Help direct the appropriate resources if additional help is needed. Resolve electrical/controls problems on site when possible.

5. With the Account Manager, attend daily and monthly meetings to evaluate product performance, equipment needs, replacement parts requirements, technical issues and commercial issues. Assist with documentation of actions and opportunities.

6. Assist the region with other technical needs such as: Autocad drawing modifications, Excel spreadsheet programming, customer machine audits at out of state locations if needed, etc.

7. Assist the Account Manager to prepare forecasts and follow orders to ensure we will meet the customer's expectations.

8. Provide customer technical support for process products we represent.

9. Provide interoffice communication regarding customer issues and potential opportunities. discuss customer's needs and issues with other departments (Tech Service, Operations, and Product Support)

10. Provide the proper scope of work and detailed repair procedures. Review job inspection documentation and parts sheets for accuracy prior to quoting. Generate service quotations and obtain customer approvals. This includes explaining the repair procedures as well as the associated costs. Serve as site project manager for maintenance and repair projects (planned and unplanned).

TYPICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

50%: Field Machines: Auditing machines, working with the customer on PM and Pre-PM

20%: Customer Office: Attending Planning Reviews directly with the customer, morning meeting, monthly meetings.

30%: Office assisting the Account Manager with Sales, CSR and Warehouse duties.

A. Confidential Information dealt with: Product design, costs, customer pricing, order transition detail, direct report waste information, etc.

B. Office related machinery:

40% Laptop, 25% field measurement tools for inspections and troubleshooting.

C. Weather can sometimes make inspections and travel difficult.

D. Percentage of travel: 90% to customer's site - 10% out of region.

Reasons for travel: Training, meet with customers, promote our products, attend company meetings.

Most common destinations: Predominantly Cliff Michigan property, Eagle Mine, Copperwood; Milwaukee, WI; Virginia, MN and other KMC operations.

Education / Qualification

1. 4-year technical degree preferred

2. Engineering degree preferred (mechanical or electrical)

3. Mining equipment background preferred

4. 2-5 years' experience with related products and mineral processing, maintenance and operations

5. Field Service and Field Service project management experience

6. Very strong troubleshooting, problem solving and communications skills

7. Proficient with MS Office, Autocad and use of internet based sales support programs

8. Ability to diffuse emotionally charged situations

9. Ability to be on-call and available during off hours

10. Travel required

11. MSHA Certified or ability to obtain certification
