Our Jacksonville Florida office is seeking a Staff Level Geologist, Environmental Engineer or Environmental Scientist to work as part of a regional team serving the Southeastern United States

The successful candidate will perform environmental field sampling services and related task and project management. We are seeking a candidate that is motivated, can work independently, is mechanically-inclined, and enjoys working outdoors.

Successful candidates must have basic experience in the environmental consulting business and relevant environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology, compliance, or related experience as described below.

  • Perform task and project management assignments associated with environmental assessments, hydrogeological studies, subsurface investigations and remedial designs, remediation, and monitoring projects;
  • Soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater sampling;
  • Storm water, waste water and influent/effluent process water sampling;
  • Oversight of subcontractors and vendors performing geophysical subsurface utility clearance, drilling, laboratory analytical services, mowing, clearing, remedial system operation and maintenance, and excavation activities;
  • Use of a Global Positioning System to take points or stake features in the field.
  • Entering data from sampling events into known computing software programs.
  • Project deliverables including the preparation of soil boring logs, well construction diagrams, potentiometric surface maps, geologic cross sections, site sample and plume maps, work plans, and reports;
  • Working collaboratively with and supervising field and office staff and developing technical staff capabilities;
  • Laboratory and hydrogeologic data management;


A minimum of 2 years of experience in the environmental consulting or related business with demonstrated experience in environmental engineering, geology, or hydrogeology, environmental site assessment, subsurface investigation, and remediation projects.

This candidate will possess the following:
  • BS / MS degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or a related environmental science.
  • Experience with task and project management of the site assessment/surface investigation and remediation process including drilling and environmental multi-media sampling techniques and procedures, data interpretation and evaluation, and deliverable preparation.
  • Experience at petroleum sites, RCRA facilities, mining operations, and/or industrial properties.
  • Experience working under the supervision of an AAI/ASTM-designated Environmental Professional conducting Phase I ESAs/Phase II ESAs, Contamination Assessment and/or Remediation.
  • Basic familiarity with environmental law including CERCLA, RCRA, EPCRA, CAA and CWA, as well as FL DEP Programs (including, but not limited to Petroleum Restoration Program), Rules, Regulations, Guidance, and SOPs.
  • Ability for meeting and exceeding deadlines while maintaining project budgets and regulatory compliance status.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups.
  • GIS, CADD, modelling, and/or 3-D visualization software familiarity required, demonstrated experience a plus.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training; MSHA training a plus.
