Our Operations

One of Australia's largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 8/6 roster, with residential or FIFO options available.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible for the largest underground production fleet in Australia, the Superintendent Mine Development is a crucial role at Olympic Dam and will play a significant part in ensuring the ongoing success of our operation.

Reporting directly to the Manager Mine Production, you be leading a team of over 200 personnel, who operate Production plant equipment. You will also oversee compliance with operating standards, procedures, work instructions and defined processes to achieve optimal production outcomes.

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on an 8/6 roster arrangement, with residential or FIFO options available.

In this role you will:

Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team

Develop and maintain inclusive working relationships with Execution Load & Haul, Drill & Blast, Maintenance and Engineering which will allow you to prioritise the improvement programs and ensure your resources are deployed efficiently

Oversee Contractors compliance to agreed terms and conditions

About you:

  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in 'Safety Leadership'
  • Prior experience with hard rock mining Development process techniques
  • Prior experience with Contract Management
  • Prior experience leading teams will be seen as highly advantageous
