Martabe Gold Mine is managed and operated by [Company]. The mine covers an area of 30 km2 that falls under the sixth generation of Contract of Work (CoW) covering a total area of 1.639 km2.

The Martabe operation has a mine life in excess of 13 years at current capacity with strong potential for further extension to this life. Activities at Martabe are focused on establishment of sustainable systems in all areas of the business for what will be a long life, low cost gold and silver producer.

[Company] engages approximately 2,300 employees and contractors with more than 98% from Indonesia and over 71 % recruited from South Tapanuli Regency where the mine is located.

To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:

SUPERINTENDENT - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (LD 1711060)

This position will be based at the Martabe Site working a roster of 4 Weeks on 2 weeks off.

The Role of the Professional Development Superintendent is to develop, compile and manage the systems & model developed for a range of professional development programs.

This is a high level role that requires a high level of integrity and honesty, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with people from other departments and senior management.

The role is designed to ensure the proper functioning of the department by:

  • Executing the professional development requirements for all departments as in regards to the Martabe Professional and Vocational development plan. 
  • Ensuring that administration of the development plan is followed and all procedures and protocols are developed or documented. 
  • Provide support for the management team as required.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Training, Education, Human Resources or related discipline. 
  • Must be a self-starter who can work with minimal direction once models have been developed. 
  • Proven ability to meet agreed deadlines. 
  • Proven professional experience in Human Resources or Training and Development roles. 
  • Proven experience at superintendent / senior supervisor positions. 
  • Significant experience and knowledge of training methodologies used in mining/ heavy industry. 
  • Thorough knowledge of competency based training and assessment systems. 
  • Effective skills and solid experience in company / corporate training. 
  • Experience in setting up training systems, including mapping competency requirements of each role in Learning Need Analysis / Training Need Analysis / Training Matrix, 
  • Understand how to plan, schedule, and budget for department deliverables. 
  • Able to coordinate a multi-disciplinary team in providing training based services to customer in a mining organization. 
  • Can develop excellent relationships with peers, internal and external of PTAR and promote a learning culture throughout the organization. 
  • Good written and verbal communications skill in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
