Responsibile for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment ( Loader, Blade, Backhoe, Trackhoe and possibly Snow Plow) in the shipment of coal. Other tasks include maintaining roads, maintaining and cleaning yard, loading and unloading trailers and items in the warehouse yard, inspecting equipment before operating to insure equipment is in safe, operable condition and then accuratly logging that information. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without an accomodation.

  • A high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to three years of heavy equipment operation
  • Field testing will be required
    Physical Demands:
    This position will require a post offer physical, conducted by our preferred licensed physician and physical therapist, to assure the candidate meets the physical demands of the job. The physical will assess only the identified physical demands of the job being applied for. The job duties of Surface Equipment Operator require walking two (2) miles in sixty (60) minutes or less, lift a fifty (50) pound box from floor to table five (5) times, grip strength (60 pounds with each hand as measured by a dynometer), carry a forty (40) pound load a distance of five hundred (500) feet, standing overhead manipulation for two (2) minutes, push one hundred (100) pounds a distance of one hundred (100) feet, pull one hundred (100) pounds a distance of fifty (50) feet, shovel the equivalent of ten (10) pounds fifteen (15) times, and stoop walk for one hundred (100) feet.
