Job Purpose:

  • The primary responsibility of the Twisting Technician is to ensure all twisters are operating at peak performance and per manufacturing specification, perform all operation maintenance on twisters and general machine repair, set up and operation.  

Essential Duties:

  • Identify the different types, ply and denier of yarns used to supply the creel and filling yarns for manufacturing fabric.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair twisters in accordance with proper preventive3 maintenance procedures per schedule.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and lubrication on machinery and/or equipment according to schedule.
  • Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of twisters during production.
  • Work with operators to troubleshoot and repair flagged spindles.
  • Enter data in Epicor for record keeping and proper scheduling.
  • Document and track records of maintenance on machinery and/or equipment; document and track costs of repairs machinery and/or equipment.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance service and request replacement parts.
  • Set up twister per recipe with the proper gears, TPI, plumb spindles, and other settings adjustments as required.
  • Use proper Lockout Tagout procedures during any activity such as repairing, adjusting, lubricating or cleaning equipment.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 5S procedure, rules, and regulations. Stage works area for the organization of proper materials needed during the shift.
  • Perform any other task deemed necessary.

Additional Job Duties:

  • Follow all operating and safety procedures at all times.
  • Alert Management of any unsafe condition such as chemical spill and/or airborne contaminates.
  • Review machinery and assess and/or recommend for improvement of function or efficiency of machinery and equipment in the plant.
  • Train employees on pallet jacks and beam truck. Assist in other members as needed.
  • Professional behavior is required during working hours, while on customer's sites and while traveling from [Company] business.


  • Maintenance and repairs of 22 twisters as a 1 person team
  • Twisters are used to produce yarn in excess of 900,000 feet of fabric per month, employing 130+ employees in a non-union environment, with approximately $3.8 million in sales per month.

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Work Ready Certificate

Experience Requirements:

  • 2+ years Twisting experience
