Department/District/Project Description
Kiewit Business Services (KBS) is a cross-functional shared service organization that provides the business units with customer-specific services focused on cost and business value. Our services include non-core, yet essential, functions of our businesses including accounts payable, accounts receivable, change control, human capital management, payroll, project initiation, compliance and continuous improvement.

The Union Benefit Lead position is part of the Kiewit Business Services Payroll Reporting department within the Payroll group.
Position Description

The Union Benefit Lead oversees the union benefit payment process to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all US and Canadian payments.

Reports to
- Payroll Reporting Supervisor

Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Audit union benefit payments, supplemental payments and mailings
- Communicate outstanding payments to Specialists
- Monitor and update Payment Release Schedule
- Support the Payroll Reporting Specialists which will include training, mentoring, quality control, productivity and providing guidance with troubleshooting and problem solving
- Provide feedback to Manager and Supervisor; assist in performance reviews
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external departments; understand Kiewit's core business and promote a sense of urgency toward business critical issues
- Collaborate with co-workers, internal and external Kiewit departments to promote continuous improvement and process excellence
- Monitor procedures and workflows for process improvement; ensure that the team follows processes, procedures and internal controls
- Manage assigned cases in Service Now
- Apply discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Reliable and consistent attendance

Secondary Roles and Responsibilities
- Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement continuous process improvement
- Perform other work related tasks as needed or assigned

Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of professional business experience; minimum one (1) year of general Accounting or Payroll experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Working knowledge of computers and experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Leadership skills including relationship building, coaching, collaboration, team-building, problem solving and decision-making
- Strong oral and written communication skills; clearly conveys messages and ideas, gains understanding; generates interest and holds attention, listens and is open to the ideas of others
- Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail with ability to recognize discrepancies and thoroughness in completing work tasks
- Open to change and new information; able to rapidly adapt to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles; demonstrates flexibility in thought and action
- Establishes priorities, allocates time to maximize benefits; able to manage time and competing priorities while maintaining a work/life balance

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior SAP experience
- Union contract experience
- College degree in business or related field

Shared Service Center - Professional office setting

Physical Requirements
- Travel as needed
- Lifting, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, etc.
- Reading from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources.
