THUNDELARRA EXPLORATION LIMITED
Thundelarra Exploration reported the results of airborne radiometric and magnetic survey completed at the Hayes Creek project in Australia, has generated fourteen high priority uranium target areas. Only six of these targets, had been previously identified and inspected. Preliminary reconnaissance carried out in 2009 identified uranium mineralisation at all six areas including uranium rich boulders at the Corkscrew prospect that assayed up to 2.3% U3O8.

State of the Industry Review: Uranium
Oct 2008
Since the development of the first atomic bomb in the 1940’s by the US government, uranium has become a critical, peaceful energy source. Concerns over shortage of oil and gas, and environmental issues regarding greenhouse gas emissions, have fuelled a new interest in nuclear energy as the source of power to meet current and future global demand for electricity.
The following eight countries account for 93% of global uranium production (2007 figures): Canada (23%), Australia (21%), Kazakhstan (16%), Russia (8%), Niger (8%), Namibia (7%), Uzbekistan (6%), USA (4%).
