In mid-2003 direct links to BC MINFILE Reports were made available from the InfoMine db property profile pages. Approximately 550 properties on InfoMine db, all located in British Columbia, now have links to MINFILE reports. These links were made possible through work by staff at the British Columbia Geological Survey who sorted through the extensive list of MINFILE occurrences to link them to properties listed on InfoMine db. To access the BC MINFILE Reports simply perform a Quick Search or Advanced Search to find the property you are looking. If a BC MINFILE Report has been linked for the property a link titled "BC MINFILE Report" will be listed under the 'Other Resources:' section of the property page. Simply click on the link and the report from MINFILE related to that property will open in a new browser window (see the MOUNT POLLEY MINE for an example of a BC MINFILE Report link). Please note that since InfoMine db and MINFILE are two separate databases the name listed on the InfoMine db property may differ from the name on the MINFILE report. It is also possible that a single property on InfoMine db relates to multiple MINFILE entries, and vice versa. Also note that while all reasonable care has been taken to ensure that the correct properties were cross linked it is possible that the MINFILE property linked from the InfoMine db property is not related to the InfoMine listing. MINFILE is a mineral inventory system managed by the British Columbia Ministry of Energy & Mines, Geological Survey Branch. The MINFILE database contains over 80 megabytes of information on more than 12,000 metallic mineral, industrial mineral and coal occurrences in British Columbia.
