January 28, 2008
Seabridge Gold announced that Resource Modeling has updated its independent resource estimate for the company’s wholly owned Noche Buena project located in Sonora, Mexico. At 0.25 g/t gold cutoff, indicated resources are estimated at 26.6 million tonnes grading 0.74 g/t Au for 633,000 ounces and inferred resoures are estimated at 18.6 million tonnes grading 0.61 g/t Au for 364,000 ounces.

Assay results from the remaining 26 holes drilled in 2007 have confirmed a previously unknown depth extension and new, mineralized structural offsets to the northeast and southwest of the deposit with grades and thicknesses similar to those of the existing resource. Best results include 0.47 g/t Au over 18.3, 1.11 g/t Au over 39.6 m and 1.62 g/t Au over 14 m (Hole SNB-012), among others.

Assay results from the first seven drill holes have confirmed a southeast extension of gold mineralization with grades and thicknesses consistent with the known deposit. In April, Seabridge commenced a reverse circulation drill program designed to expand the known gold resource at Noche Buena by testing three targets within and adjacent to the existing deposit. Best results include 0.365 g/t Au over 6 m and 0.964 g/t Au over 8 m (Hole SNB-001), among others.

Seabridge Gold announced receipt of Can$27 million from Xstrata's exercise of the two million share purchase warrants it held at Can$13.50 per share. Seabridge will use the proceeds to further exploration on its Noche Buena property in Mexico and on its Kerr-Sulphurets property in British Columbia, as well as for general working capital. The two million warrants were issued to Xstrata as part of the consideration by which Seabridge repurchased a 100% interest in its Kerr-Sulphurets project.

As part of its due diligence on the project, Seabridge commissioned Resource Modeling Incto prepare an independent National Instrument 43-101 technical report on the project. In 2004, drilled 9,211 meters of core in 86 holes. This was added to an existing database containing results from 12,492 meters of core drilling in 102 holes and 44,826 meters of reverse circulation drilling in 414 holes. A new geologic interpretation was completed along with an updated resource model. Other activities in 2004 included collecting samples for additional column leach tests, engineering studies for an open pit heap-leaching operation and investigations into updating the existing operating permit. We plan to complete the updated feasibility study in 2005.
