Golder Associates, a global consulting, design and construction services company, announced that Geotechnical Consulting Group (Asia) Ltd, one of the Hong Kong region's leading consultants in geotechnical and foundation engineering, has been acquired and has joined our operations.

With this merger and the recent acquisition in late 2011 of GeoEng Consultants in Singapore, Golder is continuing to take significant steps toward building the capacity that allows us to provide our clients with extensive geotechnical and niche contracting services.

GCG (Asia) is a specialist group that was established in 1998 by Tom Henderson and Andy Pickles, in collaboration with the well-known Geotechnical Consulting Group in London, UK. These two directors of GCG (Asia) have a combined total of almost 40 years working in the region on planning, design, construction, contract administration and risk management. This has involved many large infrastructure-related projects and underground construction.

GCG (Asia) has strong capabilities in geotechnical engineering design for temporary and permanent works; high-level review of design and construction of infrastructure projects to identify and develop more economic solutions; advanced numerical modeling of complex underground excavations; and expert witness/independent opinion services on construction contract issues.
