EduMine, InfoMine's education division, offers a 12-hour, self-paced course entitled "An Introduction to Modelling Project Finance", authored by Prof. Dennis Buchanan, Nicholas Chalmers, Dr. Mark Heyhoe, Dr. Mervyn Jones and Prof. Tim Shaw.

In addition to outlining general principles, this course includes a step-by-step guide to developing financial models including how to determine the optimum balance between debt and equity funding. The course includes three detailed case histories, one based on an open-pit coal mine, one on a nickel suphide operation and one on a nickel laterite operation. The detailed financial models were generated using the financial evaluation software tool IC-MinEval.
