Having witnessed an impressive growth in 2011, the mining industry in Asia is set to boom in 2012, backed by a strong market demand for commodities. Drilling and blasting are fundamental operations in the mining cycle and constitute an important component of overall mining costs. Recent technological developments of rock drilling has, to a great extent affected the development of explosives as well as the technology of blasting.
