July 10, 2012 - July 12, 2012 in Live Webcast Format,
This course presents the importance of geotechnical inputs in different stages of a block cave mine. The collection of appropriate geotechnical data during the assessment and initial development of a block caving operation helps in the design of the block cave layouts and in the sizing of material handling systems. During the planning and scheduling phase, geotechnical parameters often affect the production rate and capacity from the mine. In the operations phase, the monitoring of ground response to mining helps in the safe and productive operation of the block cave mine.
