October 02, 2011 - October 05, 2011
Montréal, Canada

Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Hotel, 900 de La Gauchetiere West

World Gold 2011 will be held in conjunction with COM 2011 - Conference of Metallurgists.

World Gold 2011 will include Mining, Metallurgy and Geology related themes. To ensure a truly international event, there is a call for papers as well as invitations to be sent out and selection of speakers to be done. Workshops will be organized in conjunction with the conference.

The mining environment was hit by the financial crisis. However the record gold price helped the gold mining industry to continue growing. Exploration, investments and profits are related to: gold metal prices, exploration success, opportunities for by- and co-products; potential of marginal deposits; decreasing precious metal content and increasing refractori-ness and finally more efficient, more environmentally friendly mining and processing technologies. The continuing pressures on the world financial markets are causing significant changes in the roles of the world’s major economies. This is resulting in fast-moving developments in both the supply and demand for gold. The reactions of suppliers to external factors such as currency movements, financial markets, demographic changes, requirements for sustainable development and demand, have altered gold mining activities.
